Name of Client:  Government of Uganda Ministry of Local Government  Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Programme (MATIP-2)  

Project Details:
The Government of Uganda (GoU) secured funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) to finance the Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Programme Project 2 (MATIP-2). The overall sector goal of this programme was to contribute to poverty reduction and economic growth in Uganda through enhanced commercialization of agricultural produce and other merchandise through construction of public markets. The Client commissioned Arch Forum Ltd to provide Consultancy services for provision of Architectural and Engineering consultancy services for the duration of the project period and that the services shall be carried out in two phases comprising Phase 1 – Design Review and Tender Process Assistance (Procurement of civil works contractor) and Phase 2 - Contract management and supervision.

Brief description of main deliverables/outputs:

(i)    To carry out comprehensive review of the current market designs basing on current needs for each of the proposed markets and come up with appropriate designs that fit within the allocated budget.
(ii)    Carry out necessary appropriate design adjustments to incorporate the proposed first level value addition facilities as an integral part of the market.
(iii)    Tender document preparation.
(iv)    Construction Supervision involving monthly site meetings, Quality / time/cost control payment certification as well as technical advice throughout the construction period.
